Shoreline Cleanup

This blog was created to share my community project with others. My project included visiting unique parks in the Puget Sound area. They are unique because people scuba dive at these parks. My service to the community was to pick up trash at these parks and then share the reason I chose this community service. I visited six parks, they were; Saltwater State Park, Les Davis Pier, Three Tree North, Redondo, Lobster Shop Shallows, and Lobster Shop Wall. During my time at each park I picked up trash from the shore. Trash is very hazardous to fish and marine life. Fishing line gets caught in fishes mouths, Styrofoam is toxic to fish, and plastic can also choke fish. I was surprised to find so much trash out there. I got the idea from my Dad who is a scuba diver. He made a blog (click here to see his blog site) and video showing the importance of cleaning trash from parks, especially at parks close to the water. I hope you enjoy my photos and story. Most importantly I hope you share this message with others.

Thank you,
Nathan Miller
